Senior Front End Software Developer (Contract) – Public Sector Client | Hybrid | Toronto, ON


We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Front End Software Developer for a long-term contract with our public sector client based in Toronto, Ontario. Position Summary:

Job Title: Senior Front End Software Developer

Client: Public Sector

Location: Toronto, ON

Contract Duration: August 3rd, 2026- February 2nd, 2027

Possible Extension: Additional 6 Months

Working Hours: 7 hours/day, Monday to Friday

Compensation: $85–$100/hour (depending on skills and experience)

Our client is modernizing enterprise applications and digital services using contemporary front-end technologies. The successful consultant will collaborate closely with business analysts, UX/UI designers, architects, back-end developers, QA specialists, and project managers to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly web applications.


This is an excellent opportunity for senior developers who enjoy building enterprise-grade applications and influencing technical design decisions.


Key Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will:

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level web applications.
  • Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
  • Build reusable UI components and scalable front-end architecture.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes into high-quality user experiences.
  • Consume and integrate RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Optimize application performance for speed, scalability, and usability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers when required.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Work closely with QA teams to resolve defects and improve application quality.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility (AODA/WCAG), security, and coding standards.
  • Support CI/CD deployment processes and DevOps practices.
