About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our team in McLean, VA. The successful candidate will support the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) RegTech BPA program by developing and maintaining scalable, user-centric
web applications. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of both front-end and back-end development, with hands-on experience in modern frameworks and languages. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building responsive, accessible interfaces using
React, along with strong back-end development skills in Scala and the
Akka Toolkit, applying principles of functional and
reactive programming. The role also involves working within an open-source environment, supporting containerized deployments through CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with federal
security standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of professional full stack development experience
- Proficiency in Scala, including experience with the Akka Toolkit
- Hands-on experience with functional programming, reactive programming, and actor-based concurrency
- Experience developing public-facing web applications using React
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Bootstrap, and responsive design principles
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies
- Demonstrated involvement in open-source projects, including code reviews and public releases
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and responsive web applications across the full stack
- Create accessible user interfaces utilizing React, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and Bootstrap frameworks
- Develop robust back-end services using Scala and the Akka Toolkit, applying reactive and actor-based programming models
- Build and maintain containerized images, supporting automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless build, test, and deployment processes
- Contribute to open-source codebases through code reviews, issue tracking, and public releases
- Support CQRS and event-driven architecture components, working with databases such as PostgreSQL and Cassandra / AWS Keyspaces
- Collaborate effectively with architects, designers, and product owners within an Agile development environment
- Ensure all solutions adhere to federal security standards, including FISMA Moderate or equivalent compliance
