About The Role
Samprasoft is seeking a Software Engineer to help design, build, test, and maintain applications that meet user and business needs. In this role, you will work with colleagues across engineering, product, design, and other business functions to turn requirements into practical, reliable software. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from understanding a problem and evaluating possible solutions to releasing features and improving them based on feedback.
The successful candidate is curious, organized, and comfortable adapting to evolving priorities. You should be able to explain technical ideas clearly, ask questions when requirements are unclear, and balance attention to detail with a focus on delivering useful outcomes. This role may involve working on new features as well as maintaining and improving existing systems.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Professional experience developing software in a team environment is preferred. You should be familiar with at least one programming language and have a sound understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, debugging, and version control.
Experience with web or application development, databases, APIs, automated testing, and modern development tools is beneficial. Familiarity with cloud platforms, continuous integration and delivery, or Agile practices is an advantage, but not required for every project. We value candidates who can demonstrate sound judgment, a willingness to learn, and an ability to collaborate respectfully. Clear written and verbal communication skills are important, as is the ability to manage tasks and raise risks or blockers promptly.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain software features in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards. Work with product and technical stakeholders to clarify user needs, assess feasibility, and break work into manageable tasks. Write readable, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews by offering constructive feedback and incorporating suggestions from others.
Identify, investigate, and resolve defects, performance issues, and other technical challenges. Develop and maintain unit, integration, or other automated tests to support software quality. Participate in planning, estimation, documentation, and release activities, and communicate progress clearly to relevant team members. Contribute to technical discussions and propose improvements to tools, processes, and system design. Follow appropriate practices for security, privacy, accessibility, and reliability, and continue building your technical knowledge as technologies and business needs change.
