About The Role

The Senior Application Developer at Prime Health Services plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering complex application features and cross-system solutions within a primarily Microsoft-based environment. This position requires translating ambiguous business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and designs. The Senior Application Developer owns the entire development lifecycle, from discovery and development to production support, and provides technical mentorship to other developers. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging advanced judgment in AI-assisted development processes, ensuring the safe and effective use of AI tools in requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in full-stack development, capable of guiding the team through innovative solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and security.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess extensive professional experience in developing full-stack applications utilizing Microsoft technologies such as .NET, C#, and SQL Server. Demonstrated success in delivering complex features and cross-system solutions, supporting production applications, and leading technical design and code reviews is essential. Strong knowledge of application architecture, data modeling, integration patterns, security best practices, performance optimization, and CI/CD pipelines is required. The candidate should have proven mentoring skills and the ability to influence engineering quality without direct supervisory authority. A relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience directly related to the role is necessary. Additionally, experience validating and improving AI-generated artifacts and understanding of AI-assisted development processes is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support for complex application features and cross-system solutions.
• Facilitate discussions with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to clarify project outcomes, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and technical constraints.
• Design secure, scalable, maintainable solutions leveraging technologies such as .NET, C#, React, TypeScript, SQL Server, REST APIs, and Azure cloud services.
• Define API contracts, data models, application boundaries, implementation plans, and testing strategies aligned with project goals.
• Establish comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, API, regression, and automated browser testing based on solution complexity and risk.
• Conduct thorough reviews of technical designs, pull requests, code changes, and documentation, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Identify technical debt and recommend remediation strategies that balance risk, business value, and maintainability.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, development standards, release practices, and operational documentation to streamline deployment processes.
• Mentor junior and peer application developers in software design, testing, documentation, and AI-assisted development best practices.
• Contribute reusable prompts, patterns, instructions, and quality practices to foster continuous improvement within the team.

• Utilize AI tools across various development phases—requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation—where appropriate and approved.
• Transform business discussions and source materials into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, and test scenarios, validating outputs with stakeholders.
• Identify and address inaccuracies, missing requirements, security concerns, edge cases, and incomplete logic in AI-generated artifacts.
• Ensure traceability, consistency, and coverage by comparing AI-assisted outputs with project requirements and standards.
• Decompose broad AI-assisted assignments into manageable increments suitable for human review and validation.
• Coach team members on prompt quality, context management, secure data handling, validation, and understanding AI limitations.
• Recommend improvements to AI workflows at the team level without bypassing essential design, security, testing, review, or release controls.
