Role Description The Coder and Web Developer is a full-time hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC, and Miami, Florida with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves designing, coding, testing, and maintaining web applications and back-end services using modern programming languages and frameworks. Daily tasks include implementing new features, fixing bugs, optimizing performance, and collaborating with designers and other developers to deliver secure and scalable solutions. The Coder and Web Developer will participate in code reviews, write technical documentation, and contribute to improving development workflows and standards. The role also includes communicating progress to stakeholders and ensuring that implementations align with project requirements and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building and maintaining web applications or APIs.
  • Solid Programming skills and hands-on experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in one or more modern languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#).
  • Familiarity with web technologies, databases (SQL or NoSQL), and version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow coding standards and best practices.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a hybrid team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with modern frameworks (e.g., Node.js, .NET, Django, or similar) and basic understanding of security and performance considerations is an asset.
