About the Project
The platform is a large-scale web and mobile enterprise application supporting complex healthcare business workflows, assessments, and integrations across multiple environments. It is built on Microsoft ASP.NET 4.8.1, Angular 19+, and SQL Server 2022+, with an active ongoing modernization path toward .NET Core / .NET 9+ and cloud-native architecture.
Key features include:
- Web and mobile access through PWA, Android, and iOS apps (via Ionic + Capacitor)
- Extension and support for standardized health assessment frameworks (such as InterRAI) to evaluate health and care needs
- Role-based security and single sign-on (SSO) using Azure Entra ID (OIDC / Kerberos / LDAP)
- Multilingual UI, theming, and configurable workflows
- Offline mode with data synchronization using SignalR / WebSockets and Dexie.js (IndexedDB)
- Integration with SOAP and REST services, including HL7 FHIR interoperability standards
Role Overview
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on the Canadian Mental Health project, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-throughput backend and frontend services. Beyond standard full-stack responsibilities, you will act as a technical exemplar: leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, driving strong engineering practices, conducting rigorous peer PR reviews, and supporting knowledge transfer across blended engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain application features across frontend (Angular) and backend (.NET / C#) layers.
- Actively utilize AI-assisted software development practices (e.g., AI coding assistants, reusable AI prompts/skills, automated test generation) to enhance engineering productivity and code quality.
- Participate heavily in peer code reviews (PRs) and engineering oversight to maintain code hygiene, security, and performance standards.
- Build responsive, accessible, and modular web interfaces using Angular 19+, RxJS, SCSS, and Kendo UI.
- Implement robust backend services and APIs using ASP.NET 4.8.1 / .NET 9+, T-SQL, and SPGen ORM.
- Support modernization initiatives (migration to .NET Core / .NET 9+, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Collaborate with QA/SDET engineers to automate testing using Playwright, xUnit, and integration test frameworks.
- Act as an exemplar for technical excellence, sharing knowledge and leaving behind sustainable engineering process improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
- 7+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development using C# / .NET and Angular.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) embedded into your daily coding, refactoring, and testing workflows.
- Strong command of ASP.NET 4.8.1 / .NET Core / .NET 9+, C#, T-SQL.
- Advanced skills with Angular 15+ (ideally 19+), TypeScript, RxJS, SCSS.
- Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs, as well as real-time messaging (SignalR / WebSockets).
- Proven track record in conducting thorough code reviews and establishing strong engineering practices.
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-based deployments (Azure preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-starter mindset.
- Upper-Intermediate English or higher (both written and spoken).
Nice to Have
- Experience with PWA, Ionic / Capacitor mobile development.
- Familiarity with Dexie.js, IndexedDB, or offline synchronization patterns.
- Knowledge of Telerik UI (ASP.NET Ajax / Kendo UI for Angular).
- Exposure to HL7 FHIR, healthcare data standards, or SSAS / OLAP.
