Role Description The Frontend Developer – Software will design, implement, and maintain user interfaces for HexBau and related web applications. This full-time, on-site role in Dresden involves building responsive, accessible, and performant frontend features, integrating with backend APIs, and collaborating closely with product management, UX, and backend engineering. The person in this role will translate user requirements from industrial and EHS stakeholders into intuitive workflows, refine UI components, and ensure consistent design across the platform. Day-to-day tasks include coding, reviewing peers’ work, troubleshooting UI issues, writing tests, and contributing to technical documentation. The role also includes active participation in sprint planning, refinement sessions, and continuous improvement of the frontend architecture and development processes.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one major frontend framework (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3 (including responsive design and preprocessors or utility frameworks such as SASS or Tailwind), and component-based UI development.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating frontend applications with backend services.
• Familiarity with frontend build tools and workflows (e.g., Webpack, Vite, npm/yarn, version control with Git, and CI/CD pipelines).
• Understanding of usability, accessibility best practices, and UX principles for data-heavy web applications.
• Experience with automated testing for frontend code (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools).
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team, communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and work independently on complex tasks.
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage for working with local clients and teams.
• Experience building solutions for industrial, construction, or EHS-related environments is a plus
