Full Stack Product Engineer

We're 100% remote, been that way since 2011.

About 20 of us, spread across the world, profitable, and building things we actually stand behind.

We build two products. Helpjuice is our knowledge base software, used by thousands of companies including Amazon, Hertz, and Virgin. Outlearn is our newer AI-powered chatbot, already resolving nearly half of every support ticket it touches (without a human ever stepping in).

Both are shipping fast, and we need someone who can build real, reliable software across the stack for both.

What you'll do

• Ship features across the stack: Rails backend, JS frontend (on Helpjuice and Outlearn)
• Own things end-to-end: you design it, build it, test it, and you're the one who explains why it works when someone asks
• Read and improve code that already exists, not just write new code in a vacuum
• Work directly with the team on what to build next and how to build it well
• Debug production issues and actually get to the root cause, not just the symptom
• Make calls on frontend vs. backend tradeoffs and defend them

What we look for

• Real, reviewable code somewhere (a GitHub, a portfolio, something we can actually look at)
• You can walk us through a recent project in detail: what you built, what your specific role was, what broke and how you fixed it
• Real depth in both Rails and JS - not just "I've touched it," but strong on both sides of the stack
• Comfort using AI to code faster (we do too) - but you understand and can explain every line you ship, because you're the one signing off on it

Our bar is high, and it's not about credentials or years of experience — it's about whether you can build things that work and stand behind them. If "walk me through this project" gets you a vague answer, or you can't show us any code, this isn't your seat.

Compensation & Timezone

We pay fairly and transparently, candidate-anchored to what you tell us you're worth - we meet or exceed your number within the band.

We're fully remote - but this position timezone is semi-flexible (European hours): 9am - 6pm, +/- 3 hours around that window working time window.
