Full Stack Engineer, Forward Deployed

Are you a senior full stack engineer who wants to build software that reduces energy waste and carbon emissions in the industries the world still relies on?

This Series A AI company has built a foundation model for one of the world’s hardest data problems: live energy operations.

Its founding team combines an Imperial AI PhD and published researcher with energy executives who led Shell’s global AI and data science programmes. Together, they have built a physics-grounded platform that combines time-series forecasting, physics and engineering models with AI.

Already deployed at major industrial sites, the technology helps refineries and petrochemical operators make safer, more efficient decisions in real time. It has demonstrated the potential to cut energy consumption by up to 10%, reducing both operating costs and carbon intensity.

As a Forward Deployed Full Stack Engineer, you will make that technology work in customer reality.

You’ll join a pod with ML and Data Engineers, deploying and adapting the product across cloud, on-premise, hybrid and air-gapped environments.

You will work directly with customer IT, OT, data and engineering teams to make sure the application is useful, integrated, secure and reliable in production.

You’ll adapt operator-facing interfaces, extend APIs, integrate identity systems and solve live deployment issues in complex enterprise environments.

You’ll need:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js) and back-end frameworks (FastAPI, Express, Django).

• Solid working knowledge of Python for scripting, APIs, and data integration.

• Experience building containerised microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Familiarity working with databases like PostgresSQL etc.

• Proficiency with Linux environments (deployment, debugging, performance tuning).

• Bonus: exposure to time-series/industrial data and operator-facing dashboards.

• Bonus: exposure working as a software engineer in oil and gas or energy environments

You must be happy with occasional travel during the year, including to US customer sites when required.
