ABOUT THE ROLE

eNGINE is seeking two Senior Software Engineers to help modernize core technology platforms. These are hands-on development roles for experienced engineers with strong software engineering fundamentals, a solid background in production coding, and the ability to solve complex technical problems.

You will work closely with the Principal Architect on new backend services, modern authentication environments, and broader technology modernization initiatives. The team is incorporating Agentic AI and AI-assisted development tools into its workflows, making it important to understand, evaluate, test, and improve code rather than rely solely on generated solutions. A strong background in .NET Core and C#, along with React development experience, is essential for working across the full technology stack.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production software across the full technology stack.

• Build new backend services and APIs as part of ongoing technology modernization efforts.

• Develop modern user interfaces and experiences using React.

• Build scalable backend solutions using .NET Core and C#.

• Work with the Principal Architect to translate architectural direction into practical, maintainable software solutions.

• Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Help develop and maintain Microsoft Entra single sign-on (SSO) environments.

• Integrate Agentic AI and AI-assisted development tools into the software development lifecycle.

• Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with engineering teams in the United States and London to deliver new applications and platform capabilities.

• Contribute to cloud-native development practices, including containerization and modern deployment strategies.

• Help improve development standards, engineering practices, and technical processes across the team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience writing and maintaining production code.

• Proficiency in .NET Core, C#, and React.

• Full-stack development experience across frontend and backend technologies.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, development patterns, testing, debugging, and code quality.

• Experience building APIs, backend services, and modern web applications.

• Ability to understand, evaluate, troubleshoot, and improve code rather than relying solely on AI-generated solutions.

• Professional experience using AI-assisted or Agentic AI development tools.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a distributed engineering team.

• Availability to work EST hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID or Entra SSO.

• Experience building greenfield applications, services, or platforms.

• Experience incorporating Agentic AI into software development workflows.

• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude or other AI development platforms.

• Experience with technology modernization or platform transformation initiatives.

• Experience collaborating with teams across multiple time zones.

• Candidates located in the Eastern time zone are preferred. Candidates in the Central time zone will also be considered.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in this role means delivering clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested production code while helping modernize core platform capabilities and build new services. You will use AI tools to improve development efficiency without compromising engineering standards, collaborate closely with the Principal Architect and distributed engineering teams, and contribute to better practices for AI-assisted software development.
