Senior Software Developers for a leading JSE-listed financial-services organisation

The opportunity

You will join an established technology team responsible for developing transactional websites, line-of-business systems and digital client journeys. This role requires a hands-on Senior Software Developer who can translate functional and technical requirements into secure, scalable and reliable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain web applications and business systems.
• Develop secure, scalable and reliable technical solutions.
• Translate business requirements into quality software deliverables.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, services and databases.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions.
• Participate in solution reviews, code reviews and system improvements.
• Troubleshoot defects and resolve performance or production issues.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, testers, developers and business stakeholders.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from development through implementation.
• Support coding standards, best practices and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to CI/CD, cloud and containerised development environments.

Minimum requirements

• Relevant BCom, BSc or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum five years’ software-development experience.
• Strong professional experience in C# and .NET.
• ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC and .NET Core.
• Strong Angular and modern JavaScript experience.
• SQL Server 2012 or later.
• REST APIs and Windows Services.
• Agile or Scrum experience.
• Experience working across the full software-development lifecycle.

Highly advantageous

• Microsoft Azure or Cloud PaaS experience.
• Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipelines.
• Microservices architecture.
• Experience within banking, insurance, investments, wealth management or another financial-services environment.
• Code-review, mentoring or technical-guidance experience.
