Hampton North is partnering with a Series A, mission-driven cyber startup building autonomous defense solutions for government, defense, and critical commercial sectors. Their focus is shifting the advantage in security from offense to defense using cutting-edge AI. Small, elite team, high standards, and work that genuinely matters.

Location: Washington DC or New York (onsite)

Compensation: $150,000-$200,000 Base + Equity

What you'll be doing:

• Designing, developing, and deploying backend and frontend features with a focus on high quality and maintainable code
• Owning projects end to end from conception through to delivery, managing blockers along the way
• Collaborating with engineers and designers to create user-friendly workflows aligned with the product mission
• Working directly with end users to ensure the product is solving real operational problems
• Participating in code reviews and contributing to best practices across the engineering org

What you'll need:

• Strong experience in web development with proficiency in Node and React
• Strong experience designing backend APIs and efficient database schemas
• Ability to independently manage project scope, set realistic timelines, and resolve issues autonomously
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for a distributed team environment
• Experience with strongly typed languages, Java preferred
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure is a plus
