Company Description Expanding Minds partners with Montessori and other private school leaders to build thriving, sustainable schools through a blend of hands-on operational support and an integrated technology platform. The company provides custom-branded school websites, along with a single dashboard for content management, tour bookings, open house signups, parent inquiries, and a family CRM. Built-in SEO and AI optimization help schools become more visible on search engines and AI assistants, while a curated content library supports ongoing marketing without requiring an in-house team. Grounded in authentic Montessori practice and a strong commitment to families, Expanding Minds enables schools to be more organized, more visible, and more sustainable, from single campuses to multi-school networks.
Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Front End Software Engineer at Expanding Minds. You'll design, build, and maintain the user-facing features that power our school platform, working primarily in a modern React and Next.js codebase styled with Tailwind CSS and written end to end in TypeScript. Day to day, you'll build responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces that serve school administrators, prospective families, and multi-school network operators across every device.
You'll work in Next.js to deliver fast, SEO-friendly experiences, taking advantage of server-side rendering, static generation, and the App Router to keep our custom-branded school sites highly visible on search engines and AI assistants. You'll translate product and design requirements into reusable React components, extend our Tailwind-based design system, and integrate the front end with our APIs and back-end services.
Responsibilities include writing clean, strongly typed, testable code; conducting code reviews; troubleshooting UI bugs; and driving continuous improvements in performance, accessibility, and user experience. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and back-end engineers, participate in agile ceremonies, provide technical input on feature planning, and help maintain documentation for our front-end architecture and best practices.
