Senior Software Engineer

Sigma360 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain new systems and applications. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will build on our market-leading financial crime investigation platform. Financial institutions and global companies use our platform to investigate money laundering, manage their risk, and screen transactions. You will build new features, modernize existing ones, and play a role in the next generation of combatting financial crime.

This role is fully remote within the United States.

Our platform unifies global risk data, proprietary intelligence, screening technology, and AI automation into a single system that helps clients detect financial crime and make faster, better-informed risk decisions, protecting billions of dollars in assets and transactions across banking, payments, and global commerce.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product and engineering to design and execute on scalable engineering solutions across backend, frontend, and data architecture
  • Build and maintain production systems, including services (Go, Python, Node), the UI (React/Typescript), databases (PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Elasticsearch), all containerized on AWS
  • Regularly participate in code reviews
  • Weigh in on architectural decisions and participate in our RFC process
  • Mentor and share knowledge with the rest of the team
  • Profile production systems to identify performance issues or bugs by analyzing SQL queries and database performance, profiling application waits, tuning networks for latency.


Must Have

  • 5+ years of experience in a software development role
  • Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
  • Proficiency in Go / Golang, relational databases / SQL, and a scripting language of your choice
  • Strong system design skills
  • AWS expertise, including containerized workloads on managed services
  • Strong debugging skills inside of distributed backend systems
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation with other engineers and be responsible for the code you ship
  • US-based


Nice to Have (but not required)

  • Background in financial services, payments, or regulatory technology
  • Experience at an Enterprise SaaS firm
  • A good eye for UI and UX
