About The Role

The Quantitative Software Developer role at Campbell & Company offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about financial technology and quantitative research. As a key member of the research department, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining proprietary research models and libraries that underpin the firm's investment strategies. This position involves translating complex mathematical models into robust software solutions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, data scientists, and other technical teams to implement innovative solutions that enhance the firm’s research capabilities. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and SQL.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining complex software applications and libraries.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, time series data, and mathematical modeling.
  • Familiarity with database management and querying.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Prior experience in finance or quantitative research is a plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal applications and libraries using MATLAB, Python, C/C++, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
  • Gather requirements from quantitative researchers and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement, document, and rigorously test new models and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Apply domain expertise to optimize algorithms and improve system performance.
  • Lead or contribute to key technical initiatives within the research department.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and implement best practices for software development.
  • Collaborate with cross-department teams including Market Data, Operations, and Trading to ensure seamless integration of research tools.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance research productivity and accuracy.
