About the Role

Journey Coffee Co is seeking a Junior Web Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of its websites and web applications. This is a full-time, remote opportunity for someone with foundational web development skills who is interested in building and improving customer-facing digital experiences.

You’ll work with designers, marketing team members, and senior developers to turn business requirements into functional web features. The role offers opportunities to contribute to front-end development, back-end functionality, troubleshooting, and website performance improvements while learning and following established development practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and maintain responsive, accessible, and visually consistent website interfaces.

•Support front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

•Assist with back-end functionality, server-side logic, data handling, and API integrations.

•Debug website issues and help resolve functionality, compatibility, and performance problems.

•Support website optimization to improve usability and the overall customer experience.

•Collaborate with designers, marketing team members, and senior developers to implement web features based on business needs.

•Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and development best practices.

•Use version control tools and collaborative workflows to manage code changes.

•Contribute to technical documentation and help maintain consistent, maintainable code.

•Assist with website deployment, ongoing maintenance, and improvements to existing web applications.

Required Qualifications

•Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

•Basic knowledge of at least one back-end programming language or framework, such as Node.js, Python, or PHP.

•Understanding of front-end development and responsive web design.

•Familiarity with back-end web development, programming concepts, and API integration.

•General understanding of web development processes, troubleshooting, deployment, and maintenance.

•Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.

•Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and communicate effectively with a remote team.

•Relevant coursework, coding bootcamp completion, or practical web development project experience.

Preferred Qualifications

•A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.

•Experience building responsive and accessible websites.
