The Opportunity

We're working with an exciting, growing technology business that's transforming how organisations manage complex legal, risk and compliance processes through AI.

With a platform built specifically for highly regulated environments, the business is using AI to solve real-world challenges, automate complex workflows and improve how teams manage critical information.

They're now looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a small, highly experienced engineering team and play a key role in developing and scaling their platform.

This isn't a role where you'll simply pick up tickets and deliver features. You'll have genuine ownership, working across the full development lifecycle, influencing technical decisions and seeing your work make a real impact.

The Role

You'll work closely with senior engineers, product teams and industry specialists to build, improve and scale an AI-powered platform.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop and deliver full-stack features from initial requirements through to production.
• Build and scale AI-powered workflows that support complex business processes.
• Develop APIs and integrations with third-party platforms, document management systems and external services.
• Improve frontend functionality and user experience using modern technologies.
• Work with LLM-powered features, ensuring reliability, performance and scalability.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable backend systems and relational databases.
• Take ownership of deployments, cloud infrastructure and production performance.
• Contribute to technical decisions, engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with stakeholders to turn complex requirements into practical technical solutions.

Tech Stack

You'll be working with a modern technology stack, including:

• Frontend: React, TypeScript
• Backend: Node.js, NestJS
• Database: PostgreSQL
• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Terraform, Docker
• AI: Large Language Models (LLMs), including GPT, Claude and similar technologies

You don't need experience with every technology listed, but strong full-stack engineering experience and a willingness to learn are essential.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience, working across frontend and backend development.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js and React or comparable technologies.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications.
• Experience developing and supporting LLM-powered features in production.
• Strong understanding of API development, integrations and scalable system design.
• Experience with relational databases, including schema design and migrations.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, ideally AWS, and infrastructure-as-code.
• A good understanding of application security, authentication and data protection.
• Confidence taking ownership of features from design through to deployment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working within legal technology, financial services or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of GDPR, ISO 27001 or security compliance.
• Experience with document processing, OCR or multimodal AI.
• Previous experience working within a startup or scaling technology business.
