Role Description This is a full-time, remote Web Developer role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Afya Pulse’s web platforms and digital tools. The Web Developer will build and enhance user-facing features, ensure responsive and accessible interfaces, and optimize performance across devices and browsers. Day-to-day tasks include implementing front-end and back-end functionality, integrating APIs and third-party services, maintaining website security, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role also involves collaborating with advocacy, communications, and program teams to translate organizational goals into effective digital experiences, as well as monitoring analytics to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Front-End Development and Web Design skills to create responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development and Programming skills to build secure, scalable, and maintainable server-side functionality.
  • Candidates should possess comprehensive Web Development skills to integrate front-end and back-end components and manage full website lifecycle.
  • Experience with modern web technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and at least one major framework such as React, Vue, or Angular) is preferred.
  • Experience with server-side languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar) and databases (SQL or NoSQL) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git), basic SEO principles, and web performance optimization is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders is required.
  • Previous experience in health, nonprofit, or advocacy-focused organizations, and a genuine interest in improving care for people with Type 1 diabetes, are a plus.
