About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join Oracle's Observability organization within the Oracle
Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team. This role involves designing and developing scalable, reliable, and innovative
cloud-based
web services that form the backbone of Oracle's integrated observability and management platform. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with research and engineering teams to deliver complex, large-scale projects that enhance the platform's ability to deliver comprehensive monitoring, logging, auditing, SIEM, and other observability services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of
cloud technology, contributing to the development of world-class solutions that provide meaningful insights into
cloud resources and
data across multiple environments, including OCI, other
clouds, and on-premises
data centers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in software design, development, and operation of large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or C++, complemented by experience with scripting languages like Python.
- Strong background in designing, implementing, and managing high scalable, available, and reliable distributed services or systems.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to tackling complex technical challenges.
- Educational qualification: BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack, cloud-based web services solutions that prioritize scalability, reliability, and high availability to support Oracle’s observability platform.
- Collaborate extensively with research and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions for complex, large-scale projects that enhance the platform’s capabilities.
- Show initiative and enthusiasm in addressing challenging problems through innovative and efficient design approaches.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Maintain and improve existing services by identifying areas for optimization and implementing best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the platform’s features and performance.
- Contribute to documentation, technical specifications, and knowledge sharing within the team.
