Processing vast volumes of real-time data, transactions, and interactive user experiences every day, they continue to invest heavily in technology as a core differentiator.

As part of their next phase of growth, they are establishing a dedicated AI Innovation Lab. This newly formed division will operate as an internal innovation hub focused on identifying, validating, and deploying AI-powered solutions across the wider business.

This is not a team maintaining existing products. Its purpose is to experiment, challenge assumptions, develop prototypes, and build entirely new capabilities that can have company-wide impact.

The Opportunity

As an AI Full Stack Engineer, you will work alongside Software Engineers, AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Leaders within a highly autonomous innovation function.

The team will be responsible for investigating how advances in Generative AI, LLMs, automation, intelligent agents, and machine learning can be transformed into practical products and services.

You'll take ideas from concept through to proof-of-concept and ultimately into production, helping define how AI is adopted across the organisation.

This is an ideal role for engineers who enjoy solving ambiguous problems, building quickly, experimenting with emerging technologies, and working across the entire product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-powered web applications
• Build modern full-stack products using TypeScript and JavaScript
• Develop intuitive user experiences that leverage AI capabilities
• Build APIs and backend services supporting AI workloads
• Integrate LLMs and third-party AI platforms
• Build internal tools, copilots, automation systems and intelligent workflows
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Engineers on experimentation
• Prototype and validate new concepts quickly
• Contribute to platform architecture and engineering standards
• Drive technical discussions around scalability, reliability and maintainability

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience building modern frontend applications using React and/or Next.js
• Experience with Node.js backend development
• Experience designing APIs and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of cloud-native development
• Passion for AI and emerging technologies
• Experience working within product-focused engineering environments

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic or similar models
• Experience building AI-powered products
• Python experience
• Experience building internal platforms and developer tools
• Exposure to vector databases, RAG or AI agents
