Role Description We're looking for a Fullstack Engineer who is strongest on the backend. You'll own features end-to-end from database schema to API to UI and keep them running well in production. Day to day, you'll build and evolve a Fastify (Node.js/TypeScript) API and BullMQ background workers, design PostgreSQL schemas and ship changes safely to a live database, integrate third-party APIs with attention to rate limits, quotas, and cost, and ship frontend features in Next.js/React. You'll also own infra and observability deployments, autoscaling, connection pooling, metrics, logs, and tracing and use them to debug production incidents. The stack is TypeScript end-to-end, and the core challenges are backend: data integrity, background processing, reliability, and scale.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years building production backend systems in Node.js/TypeScript
  • Proven experience maintaining a live production application: monitoring, incident handling, shipping changes safely, and keeping it stable as it grows
  • Strong PostgreSQL skills: schema design, indexing, query performance, transactions, and an understanding of connection pooling (e.g. PgBouncer)
  • Hands-on experience with background jobs and queues (BullMQ/Redis or similar): idempotency, retries, race conditions, and scheduled/cron-driven work
  • Careful with business-critical logic: transactional integrity, edge cases, double-processing, and audit trails
  • Comfortable shipping React/Next.js frontends — able to build features independently
  • Practical infra knowledge: Docker, Linux server ops, CI/CD, deploying and scaling services on cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with observability tooling: structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing (Grafana stack or equivalent)
  • Able to work autonomously: scope your own work, flag risks early, and communicate clearly in writing
  • Nice to have: Fastify and OpenTelemetry experience
