About The Role
NuAxis Innovations is seeking a talented and motivated IT Web Developer for a full-time position to support and enhance a portfolio of public-facing and internal web applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving applications built on ASP.NET / .NET 8, with a backend database on IBM DB2, alongside Drupal-based websites. This role involves delivering maintenance in two-week sprints, including corrective, adaptive, and perfective updates, while actively contributing to the modernization efforts of existing systems. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that applications are secure, accessible, and responsive, aligning with federal standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization that values innovation, quality, and teamwork, supporting federal agencies in delivering impactful digital solutions to the public.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in web application development, with at least three years specifically working with ASP.NET, C#, and .NET Core (preferably .NET 6 or 8). Hands-on experience with Entity Framework, MVC/Razor Pages, and responsive front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap is essential. Strong relational database skills are required, with a preference for experience in IBM DB2; however, familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is acceptable with a willingness to cross-train. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in REST API design and integration, handling JSON payloads, and implementing error/retry patterns. Front-end development skills should include HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and ideally experience with AngularJS or modern single-page application frameworks. Knowledge of Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab), and secure development practices aligned with federal standards is necessary. Candidates should also have experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies and an understanding of accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA. Experience with AI-assisted development tools, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting secure federal systems is highly desirable. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; equivalent experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
Develop, debug, and maintain ASP.NET / .NET 8 Core MVC and Razor applications, ensuring high performance, security, and usability. Write optimized SQL queries and stored procedures against IBM DB2, supporting schema changes, performance tuning, and data integrity initiatives. Build and consume REST APIs that integrate with enterprise case management, document management, and identity services, supporting seamless data exchange across systems. Implement and maintain single sign-on (SSO) and federated identity solutions such as Login.gov, SAML, and OIDC, ensuring secure and streamlined user authentication processes. Address security findings from various audits and scans, including STIGs, SRRs, and vulnerability assessments, within specified timelines to maintain system integrity. Ensure all user interfaces comply with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA, and are responsive for mobile and desktop environments. Participate actively in CI/CD pipelines, conducting code reviews, unit testing, and controlled promotions from development to staging and production environments. Provide Tier 2/3 support for production systems, conducting root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and post-release validation to ensure system stability. Contribute to modernization efforts by enabling APIs for legacy functions, supporting data migration activities, and documenting decommissioning plans. Support release management activities by producing necessary documentation, including unit tests, security assessments, performance reports, and deployment evidence. Maintain and update code repositories, configuration files, database scripts, and deployment artifacts within DOL-controlled Git repositories. Collaborate with teams supporting enterprise services such as Appian, WISE, PWRS, SharePoint, Kafka, and others, ensuring smooth integration and data exchange.
