We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to help build a greenfield platform from the ground up: modern FHIR APIs and patient-facing web experiences. This is an opportunity to shape architecture and tooling on a new codebase rather than maintain a legacy one. You will also work fluently with agentic coding tools like Claude Code, building the test harnesses and guardrails that let agents run safely against our codebase.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable web applications using Go, htmx, templ, and TypeScript, writing reusable, reliable code across the front end and back end.
  • Build greenfield FHIR APIs and healthcare data integrations, and the patient-facing experiences that consume them.
  • Build and debug containerized applications in a Kubernetes environment.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and manage relational database schemas and queries.
  • Apply secure development practices day to day: input validation, authentication and authorization patterns, secrets handling, and dependency hygiene.
  • Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures, ensuring strict compliance with regulations like HIPAA.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack.
  • Use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code as a routine part of the development workflow: scope work for agents, review agent-generated changes, and hold that output to the same review, security, and quality bar as human-written code.
  • Help build and maintain the test harnesses that make autonomous agentic coding viable: fast and deterministic unit, integration, and end-to-end suites, seeded test data, fixtures and mocks for external systems, and reproducible local and CI environments.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and team knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule for critical application support as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer or similar role.
  • Back-end development experience with Go (Golang).
  • Proficiency building server-rendered front ends with htmx and/or templ (or similar hypermedia-driven approaches), plus TypeScript for client-side behavior.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and managing system integrations.
  • Working knowledge of application security fundamentals (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and secure coding practices.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or agentic coding tools in professional software development, with sound judgment about where they help, where they do not, and how to verify their output.
  • Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Understanding of data security best practices and compliance requirements, especially HIPAA within a healthcare context.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, remote environment.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Skill/Abilities:

  • Experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience working within the Healthcare industry.
  • Direct experience with healthcare data standards, particularly FHIR, and building healthcare integrations. Experience with HL7 is also a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS (S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
  • Experience with GitLab is a plus.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
