About Central Dev:

Central Dev is a software partner helping startups, scale-ups, and enterprises build and scale their products through outsourcing, consulting, and extended-team engagements. We work across web and mobile apps, enterprise dashboards, AI integrations, cloud infrastructure, and UI/UX. The common thread is reliable delivery, clear communication, and real technical depth.

Right now we're building a production AI platform for a client in the personal-injury legal space — a system that runs the full litigation lifecycle for law firms, from intake and medical records through demands, negotiations, and court e-filing. It's AI-assisted (document extraction, retrieval, and drafting) and built to handle protected health information to a HIPAA standard, so correctness and security aren't optional extras. You'll join a small team with meaningful ownership and a pace that rewards engineers who make good decisions.

What you'll do:

Build and maintain backend services in Python (FastAPI) and frontend features in React/TypeScript that legal teams depend on every day. You'll design clean REST APIs and MongoDB document models, work within a microservices architecture, and contribute to our micro-frontend setup — keeping service and UI boundaries clean. You'll ship to AWS using Lambda and the AWS CDK, keep our CI/CD pipelines healthy, and integrate with third-party systems (authentication, document processing and OCR, e-signature, court e-filing, storage, and notifications), handling the messy real-world parts like retries, webhooks, rate limits, and partial failures. Because the platform handles sensitive health information, you'll build with security and least-privilege access in mind from the start — no sensitive data leaking into logs, URLs, or client storage. You'll also review code with the rest of the team, help set the technical bar, troubleshoot production issues, and write tests that actually catch regressions.

Strong proficiency in Python

Strong proficiency in TypeScript

Hands-on experience building modern user interfaces with React

Experience developing backend services and APIs with FastAPI

Solid experience with MongoDB, including document data modeling

Experience deploying to AWS using Lambda and the AWS CDK (Infrastructure-as-Code)

Proven experience designing and building applications on a microservices architecture

Experience implementing micro-frontend architectures

Proficiency building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Strong command of Git and GitHub workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)

Nice-to-have:

Experience with event-driven architecture

Experience with Auth0 for authentication and identity management

Working knowledge of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

Familiarity with Google Zanzibar–style, relationship-based authorization (ReBAC), or implementations such as OpenFGA

How to apply:

Send a CV and, ideally, a short note or a link or two to something you've built that you're proud of. We care more about what you've shipped than where you went to school.
