We’re Hiring: Senior Full-Stack Developer – Taxi & Mobility Platform

About the Project

We are developing an advanced taxi and mobility platform featuring a digital taxi meter, real-time GPS tracking, interactive maps, automated fare calculation, online payment integration, live chat, and notification services.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to work closely with our Front-End Developer and take responsibility for developing, integrating, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our platform.

This is a hands-on development role requiring proven experience with real-time applications, location-based services, financial transactions, and third-party API integrations.

Key Responsibilities1. Backend Development & System Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Design database architecture, relationships, indexes, and transaction workflows.
• Implement authentication, authorization, user roles, and permissions.
• Build reliable services connecting passenger apps, driver apps, dashboards, and administrative systems.
• Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and data integrity.

2. Real-Time GPS Tracking & Maps

• Implement live GPS tracking for drivers and passengers.
• Develop real-time location updates and vehicle movement tracking.
• Integrate Google Maps, Mapbox, or other suitable mapping services.
• Implement routes, distance calculations, ETA, map markers, and route polylines.
• Optimize location updates, background tracking, and network performance.
• Support real-time trip status updates, driver availability, and trip monitoring.

3. Digital Taxi Meter & Fare Calculation

• Develop backend services supporting a digital taxi meter.
• Implement fare calculation based on distance, duration, minimum fare, waiting time, and additional charges.
• Support configurable pricing rules, cancellation fees, and surge pricing.
• Ensure consistency between the displayed fare, trip records, and final payment.
• Handle trip start, pause where applicable, completion, fare calculation, and trip history.

4. Payment Gateways & Financial Systems

• Integrate third-party electronic payment gateways.
• Implement payment authorization, capture, refunds, and transaction status handling according to the selected provider.
• Support saved payment methods and tokenized card payments where supported.
• Implement secure payment webhooks, idempotency, and transaction reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate trip receipts, payment records, commissions, and financial reports.
• Handle payment failures and prevent duplicate charges.

5. Real-Time Communication & Notifications

• Implement live chat between passengers, drivers, and support teams.
• Develop real-time messaging using WebSockets or equivalent technologies.
• Integrate SMS, push notifications, and email services as required.
• Implement message delivery status, notification events, and relevant trip alerts.
• Ensure reliable communication during active trips and changing network conditions.

6. Database & Financial Reporting

• Design and optimize databases for users, drivers, vehicles, trips, pricing, payments, and transactions.
• Maintain accurate trip histories and financial records.
• Develop reporting APIs for revenue, completed trips, driver activity, and platform performance.
• Ensure appropriate transaction consistency and auditability.

7. Front-End Integration & Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the Front-End Developer to connect interfaces with backend APIs.
• Provide clear API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger or equivalent tools.
• Review code, troubleshoot integration issues, and maintain consistent data contracts.
• Collaborate on technical architecture, development priorities, and release planning.

8. Deployment & Production Maintenance

• Deploy and maintain production backend services.
• Implement logging, monitoring, error handling, and automated testing.
• Use Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve application reliability and performance.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong professional experience as a Senior Full-Stack Developer, with substantial backend expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in Node.js with TypeScript, NestJS, or an equivalent backend framework.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL and database optimization.
• Experience with Redis, WebSockets, and real-time event-driven systems.
• Strong experience designing REST APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Practical experience with GPS tracking, mapping APIs, geolocation, and route calculations.
• Experience integrating electronic payment gateways and handling payment transactions securely.
• Experience implementing live chat, SMS, push notifications, or messaging services.
• Knowledge of authentication, API security, access control, and secure data handling.
• Experience with Docker, cloud infrastructure or VPS deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD.
• Strong Git skills and experience collaborating with frontend and mobile developers.

Mandatory Experience

Candidates must have practical experience in at least the following critical areas:

• Real-time applications and live data updates.
• GPS tracking and map integrations.
• Backend APIs for mobile applications.
• Third-party API and payment gateway integrations.
• Database design and production system maintenance.

Experience in taxi booking, ride-hailing, logistics, fleet management, or other location-based platforms is a significant advantage.

Candidates without practical real-time and map-based application experience will not be considered a suitable match for this role.
