Role Description

The QA Engineer / Software Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through comprehensive testing, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with software engineers, product managers, business analysts, UX designers, and cross-functional stakeholders is essential to ensure products meet functional, performance, security, and usability expectations. The role also prepares testing documentation, quality reports, test summaries, and release readiness assessments to support informed project decisions.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance principles, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile development, and defect management processes. Ability to design and execute comprehensive manual and automated test strategies.

Proficiency in test management tools, bug tracking systems, automation frameworks, API testing tools, and software testing techniques. Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, performance testing, and database testing is an advantage.

Knowledge of web applications, mobile applications, RESTful APIs, databases, system integration, software architecture, and software quality standards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify defects, analyze root causes, evaluate software quality, and recommend effective corrective actions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear testing documentation, communicate technical findings effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple testing activities while delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced and collaborative development environment.
