Hello Better is growing, and we’re looking for a Full Stack React / PHP Developer to join our Sri Lankan team.

We have a strong history of working on complex digital systems for reputed organisations across New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. Our projects often involve large data collections, automation, integrations, business workflows, CMS platforms, and real-time operational systems.

About the role

You’ll work on custom software platforms, CMS-driven systems, customer portals, dashboards, booking systems, business tools, and integrations.

This role is ideal for someone who has strong PHP experience, understands good software structure, and is comfortable working with modern front-end tools like React. 

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain PHP-based applications
• Work with frameworks such as Laravel and Symfony
• Develop front-end interfaces using React
• Work with CMS platforms and custom CMS functionality
• Build APIs, integrations, automations, and business workflows
• Work with large data sets and operational systems
• Follow coding standards, project workflows, and development processes
• Work closely with our senior team, designers, QA testers, and project leads

What we’re looking for

• Strong knowledge of PHP
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
• Experience with Laravel, Symfony, or similar PHP frameworks
• Experience with React
• Ability to work with CMS systems
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, and integrations
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Good communication skills
• A practical mindset and willingness to solve complex problems

Nice to have

• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with REST APIs
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• Experience with Silverstripe, Craft CMS, or similar platforms
• Understanding of queues, background jobs, caching, and automation
• Experience working with business systems, portals, booking engines, or CRM-connected platforms
