Role Description The Senior Shopify Developer role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Shopify-based ecommerce stores and related digital experiences. Day-to-day work includes developing custom Shopify themes, configuring and extending Shopify storefronts, and implementing responsive, accessible UI components. The role involves integrating third-party apps, payment gateways, and APIs, as well as managing data flows between Shopify and backend systems. The Senior Shopify Developer collaborates with designers, product managers, and other developers to translate business requirements into clean, maintainable code and high-performing storefronts. The role also includes troubleshooting technical issues, improving site speed and conversion, reviewing code, mentoring team members, and contributing to best practices and technical documentation.
Qualifications

• Strong Shopify development skills, including custom theme creation, Liquid templating, and Shopify Online Store 2.0 features.
• Front-end development proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks or libraries relevant to Shopify storefronts.
• Experience with ecommerce performance optimization, including page speed, SEO basics, conversion rate improvements, and analytics tools.
• Competence in API integration, payment gateway setup, and connecting Shopify to third-party services or backend systems.
• Background in version control (e.g., Git), collaborative development workflows, and code review practices.
• Ability to translate business and design requirements into technical solutions, with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to work independently across time zones.
• Several years of experience in Shopify or ecommerce development; experience with mobile-first design and international stores is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
