Job Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer V / AI Solutions Developer to join Reality Labs organization and build next-generation AI solutions that transform operational workflows across Packaging Engineering, Hardware Compliance, Sustainability, and Technical Program Management.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building real-world AI applications—not simply experimenting with prompts, but designing production-ready tools, intelligent agents, dashboards, automated workflows, and data-driven solutions that eliminate manual processes and improve decision-making across global teams.

You'll partner closely with Technical Program Managers, Compliance Leads, Engineers, and Product teams to identify operational challenges and develop scalable AI-powered solutions using internal AI infrastructure.

The first major initiative will be building a Compliance Readiness Dashboard, providing global visibility into certification timelines, decision milestones, and compliance readiness across more than 25 countries and seven compliance disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Initial Project — Compliance Readiness Dashboard

• Design and build an interactive multi-page dashboard showing country expansion timelines, discipline-specific lead times, prerequisites, and decision deadlines across 25+ countries
• Partner with program and compliance leads to understand use cases, problem statements, and priorities (i.e., P0-P3s).
• Integrate with internal tools for data storage, visualization, and workflow automation
• Design a scalable data model supporting multiple hardware programs and 7 compliance disciplines
• (Safety, Artwork/Legal/Creative, Packaging Design, Logistics, MRC, Product Certification, Wireless Certification)
• Create data input mechanisms for teams to update status and timelines
• Ongoing — AI-Enabled Solutions Across the Organization
• Identify, scope, and build AI-powered tools and automations to serve all functions under the Packaging
• Engineering, RL Sustainability & Compliance organization — including Packaging, Sustainability, TPM,
• Safety, Certification, Compliance, Biocompatibility, and Materials Regulatory Compliance
• Develop agentic AI workflows using internal AI platforms to automate repetitive processes and reduce manual effort
• Build internal dashboards, reporting tools, and alerting systems that improve visibility and accelerate decision-making
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate operational pain points into technical solutions
• Document solutions, create training materials, and enable handoff to permanent team members for long-term sustainability

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or software technical program management with hands-on coding
• Demonstrated proficiency building applications using Python, SQL, and modern web frameworks
• Proven experience working with AI/ML tools in a production environment — not just prototyping, but deploying real solutions that drive measurable outcomes
• Experience designing and building dashboards, data visualizations, or interactive web applications
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and system integration
• Ability to independently scope, architect, and deliver technical projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication skills — ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and gather requirements from diverse functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in building agentic AI systems, LLM-powered workflows, or AI automation pipelines
• Experience with Google Workspace APIs (Docs, Sheets, Chat, Apps Script)
• Familiarity with hardware product development processes, compliance workflows, or certification programs
• Experience with data migration, system integration, or enterprise tool development
• Understanding of regulatory compliance, product certification, or supply chain operations in consumer electronics
• Prior contingent worker or consulting experience or comparable large consumer electronics companies

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.

Must-Have Skills:

• AI builder with true engineering capabilities, experience building agentic workflows and AI architecture, not just prompt engineering (prompt engineering is table stakes)
• Operational focus and awareness—understanding of how TPM teams manage process flows and ability to build tools that address real operational pain points Req Intake Template
• Ability to be self-directed—can take starting points, project briefs, and one-pagers and run independently with minimal oversight

Nice to Have Skills:

• Demonstrated experience building AI tools on Claude/Anthropic platforms with a portfolio or website showcasing previous work
• Some program management skills or AI software TPM skillset to complement technical abilities
• Portfolio that shows engineering capabilities
