Senior Software Engineer

Location: Remote (US) | Type: Full Time | Experience: 7+ years

About the Role

You'll build production software end to end, owning backend services that carry real load and shipping features that make it all the way to users. Much of the work centers on AI: building AI-powered product features, and using AI tooling to move faster and write better code along the way.

This is a role for someone who has spent years shipping and wants to keep their hands on the keyboard. The team is small enough that what you build matters and big enough that you won't be the only senior voice in the room. You'll have room to shape architecture, not just close tickets.

If you've watched AI features get bolted on as demos that never survive contact with production, this is the chance to do it right: features that hold up under real latency, cost, and reliability constraints.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build backend services in Node.js or Python that stay fast and dependable as usage grows
  • Ship AI-powered product features, from prototype through to something users actually rely on
  • Use AI coding tools day to day to speed up development without letting quality slip
  • Model and query data in Postgres or MySQL, and keep those queries honest as the schema evolves
  • Contribute across the stack, including front-end work when a feature needs it
  • Weigh in on architecture and technical direction as the product and team scale
  • Review code, mentor teammates, and raise the bar for how the team ships

Qualifications

  • 7+ years building software in production environments
  • Several years of depth in Node.js or Python on the backend
  • Strong with relational databases, particularly Postgres or MySQL
  • Front-end experience is a real plus, and comfort jumping into it when needed matters
  • Hands-on experience building AI products, and using AI to build them
  • US-based and able to work remotely. A bonus if you're in or near Knoxville, TN

Why Join Us

You'll join a team that cares about the craft and expects the work to be good. Decisions get made by people who write code, and AI is treated as a tool to build sharper products faster, not a checkbox.

If you want to build things that ship and stay shipped, alongside engineers who hold the same standard, this is a good place to do it.
