Job Summary

Transport Pro is a leading provider of web-based logistics software. We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer who thrives at the intersection of deep technical problem-solving and customer empathy.

This is not a traditional behind-the-scenes engineering role, nor is it a simple helpdesk position. You will serve as the primary technical interface for our clients—translating real customer friction into robust software solutions. We need an experienced developer who genuinely cares about solving human problems through code, understands the business impact of production issues, and takes pride in making our clients feel heard, supported, and valued.

A Note on Technical Depth: We require a genuine software engineer with foundational knowledge. We are looking for candidates who can read stack traces, write SQL queries by hand, debug environment issues, and write clean, scalable PHP from memory. While AI tools (like Claude or Cursor) are fine for secondary assistance, if you rely on generative AI or "vibe coding" to figure out basic logic or troubleshoot standard errors, this position will not be a fit.

This position is fully remote. Your core mandate will be handling high-touch customer support requests, configuring custom client installations, and writing production-ready system enhancements. Because logistics operates around the clock, while 24/7 work is not required, this is not a strict 9-to-5 desk job. You will be part of an on-call rotation to respond to critical customer emergencies on nights and weekends when urgent production issues arise.

Responsibilities

• Customer-Centric Problem Solving: Directly interact with clients to diagnose complex technical issues, provide empathetic communication, and deliver timely, high-quality resolution to production support tickets.
• Full-Stack Application Development: Develop, refactor, and enhance server-side applications using PHP, ensuring high performance, security, and maintainability.
• API & System Integration: Design and implement robust APIs (RESTful and SOAP) to facilitate seamless integrations between client environments and our core logistics platform.
• Software Architecture & Design: Participate in system design discussions, contributing to scalable software architecture and long-term platform improvements.
• Clean Code & Process Discipline: Write readable, well-tested, maintainable code following established engineering standards, SDLC processes, and version control (SVN).
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform hands-on debugging and unit testing to ensure application stability across production and staging environments.
• Cloud & OS Operations: Manage and deploy services within Linux environments hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Technical Capabilities

• 3+ Years Senior PHP Experience: Demonstrated expertise in modern PHP backend development within a production enterprise environment.
• Core Engineering Principles: Deep proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, data structures, and secure coding practices.
• Database Mastery: Strong hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically schema design, optimization, and complex query writing in PostgreSQL.
• Full Web Stack Proficiency: Solid understanding of front-end web technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and JSON formats.
• API & Integration Protocols: Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Infrastructure & Linux: Familiarity with Linux server administration, shell scripting, containerized workflows, or cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS).
