ABOUT THE COMPANY

Cincinnatus LLC is hiring for a client opportunity with a leading AI lab focused on generative AI research and development. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced AI models through production software engineering and collaboration with the lab's engineering team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join a GenAI team working on foundational AI models. You will build and ship production software that exercises the capabilities of frontier models before their public release. The work involves developing applications, services, and internal tools that connect model capabilities with practical software systems.

You will work directly with the AI lab's engineering manager on fast-moving projects, integrating pre-release model APIs and evaluating how models perform in real applications. The team values engineers who can onboard quickly, adapt to changing requirements, deliver working code early, and communicate technical findings clearly to research and engineering colleagues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and ship full-stack applications, services, and internal tools using Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript.

  • Integrate pre-release model APIs into working software, including tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry systems.

  • Identify, diagnose, and document model failures and integration issues.

  • Translate engineering observations into clear written feedback for the research team.

  • Develop prototypes quickly and deliver working software increments as requirements evolve.

  • Collaborate with the engineering manager and other engineers to maintain consistent code quality, architecture, and technical documentation.

  • Contribute to software that tests and exercises the capabilities of advanced AI models across end-to-end workflows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of dedicated professional experience building and shipping production software at a recognized, top-tier organization.

  • Production development experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++.

  • Working proficiency in a second programming language.

  • Hands-on experience with modern application stacks and full-stack development workflows.

  • Familiarity with API integration, evaluation frameworks, and telemetry systems.

  • Ability to onboard quickly, adapt to evolving requirements, and deliver working code with limited upfront specifications.

  • Strong written communication skills, particularly when documenting technical observations and providing feedback.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

This is a full-time W-2 employment opportunity with Cincinnatus LLC, with the possibility of placement at the AI lab as part of its extended workforce. The position is remote, with work-from-anywhere arrangements indicated in the original listing.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

Cincinnatus LLC states that hiring decisions are based on skills and expertise. All qualified candidates are welcome regardless of background, experience, or prior employment history. Applications are reviewed based on demonstrated technical ability and qualifications.
