Role Description The Full Stack Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable web applications that power AWE’s digital wellness platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing front-end user interfaces, implementing secure and efficient back-end services, integrating databases and APIs, and ensuring seamless performance across devices and browsers. The role involves collaborating closely with product, design, and wellness teams to translate user needs into reliable features, as well as participating in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of the platform’s architecture. This is a full-time remote role, requiring proactive communication, ownership of deliverables, and a strong commitment to quality and user experience.

Full-Stack Engineering

• 5+ years of professional full-stack experience
• Strong TypeScript and React on the frontend; comfortable with component architecture, state management, and accessibility
• Solid backend experience — REST API design, relational data modelling, and working with authentication middleware
• Experience building multi-tenant or role-based-access systems is a strong advantage
• Comfortable reading and reasoning about infrastructure (cloud deployments, environment config, CI/CD pipelines) even if DevOps is not your primary specialty

Quality Engineering

• You write tests as a first-class activity, not an afterthought
• Experience with integration testing frameworks and end-to-end test tooling (Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with CI pipeline configuration — you can add a test gate to a PR workflow without help
• Experience designing isolation tests for multi-tenant systems is a strong advantage
• You can write a test plan from a set of exit criteria and execute it against a live environment

Ways of Working

• You are comfortable in a small, fast-moving team where scope is real and deadlines are fixed
• You communicate clearly in writing — task updates, test reports, and friction logs that others can act on
• You can context-switch between building and testing within the same sprint
• You flag risk early and propose solutions rather than waiting for direction

Qualifications

• Ability to write clean, testable code; familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and comfort working in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in digital wellness, behavioral health, or building products that improve people’s lives is highly valuable.

Compensation: As an early-stage, growing organization, we currently operate on an equity and deferred payment structure. This means payroll is directly tied to company revenue, investment and payouts are issued once the company has achieved set 2026 goals. Upon shared success, compensation will align with competitive industry standards for this role.
