About the Job
We are hiring Full-Stack Developers Mid-Level to join our team. The successful candidates will work on feature development across both frontend and backend, collaborating closely with our core technical team.
Full-time, in-office position based in Kathmandu. You will work directly alongside the core technical team with regular check-ins and structured code reviews. Junior hires will receive active mentorship. Mid-level hires are expected to work with greater independence on assigned modules.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Implement API routes and backend logic as assigned
- Build data models and database structures based on specifications
- Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Next.js and React
- Build highly responsive, accessible, and reusable UI components
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient JavaScript/TypeScript code following team standards
- Work with authentication and authorisation patterns including role-based access control
- Handle media uploads and asset management as part of content workflows
- Utilise AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate feature delivery
- Manage code repositories and workflows using GitHub
- Collaborate with the team on implementation tasks and feature planning
- Participate in code reviews and act on feedback
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues
- Document code and contribute to technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Next.js and React (at the level appropriate to the role applied for)
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and HTML
- Experience with at least one relational or document database (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with an ORM or query builder (Prisma, Drizzle, or equivalent)
- Understanding of API development and RESTful services
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation patterns (JWT, session-based, or OAuth)
- Understanding of content modelling concepts — content types, fields, slugs, and relationships
- Familiarity with version control using Git/GitHub
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and ability to effectively prompt for code generation and problem-solving
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and act on feedback
Additional Requirements
- Ability to write and maintain unit/integration tests (Jest or Vitest)
- Experience with role-based access control (RBAC) or multi-tenant data separation patterns
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts and GitHub Actions
- Exposure to Docker and containerisation
- Ability to take ownership of a defined module end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Active participation in code reviews, not just as a recipient but as a contributor
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-tenancy architecture
- Experience with NextAuth.js, Clerk, or Auth0
- Familiarity with media handling — file uploads, image optimisation (Next.js Image, Cloudinary, S3)
- Understanding of editorial/publishing workflows (draft, publish, schedule, archive states)
- Knowledge of GraphQL
- Experience with state management solutions (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query)
- Experience with component libraries (Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Material-UI)
- Familiarity with serverless deployments
- Experience with webhook design and event-driven patterns
- Exposure to headless CMS concepts
- Experience developing reusable components and design systems
- Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and browser-based performance testing
