About The Role
Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services, is seeking a Software Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO, to support future franchise programs. This role involves software development for the next-generation Mission Planning system designed for the Department of Defense. As a key member of a Scrum team, you will follow the SAFe
Agile methodology to develop weapon planning software that leverages a microservices architecture. The front-end development primarily uses
JavaScript and
React, while the back-end services are predominantly built with
C#. Your contributions will directly impact the operational capabilities of defense systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance. A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is required, including proficiency in languages such as
JavaScript,
TypeScript,
React,
C#, and/or C++. Experience with RESTful
API development and utilization is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers.
Experience with
Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira, Jira Align, or
Azure DevOps is necessary. A solid understanding of version control systems such as
Git, and experience with
testing at unit, integration, and system levels in complex environments are also required. The ability to clearly document software designs, interfaces, and test plans is vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of weapon planning software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Assist the Product Owner in reviewing, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into initial software designs that meet mission needs.
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities, including system integrations.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and design specifications for software solutions.
- Debug and resolve technical issues to ensure software reliability and efficiency, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
- Support the development of software processes, establishing best practices, and continuous improvements to workflows.
- Collaborate with team members to implement modular and open system designs, adhering to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
