About the Company
Qolo helps businesses navigate the complexities of payments and financial transactions. Its platform enables organizations to manage payments efficiently, reduce costs, and support business growth across banking, wage access, distribution payments, card processing, and modern fintech services.
The platform combines a real-time ledger, virtual accounts, and multiple payment methods—including cards, ACH, wires, RTP, and push-to-card transfers—through a single API. This allows financial institutions to launch new products without replacing their existing core systems or integrating multiple vendors.
About the Role
Qolo is looking for a hands-on Principal Full Stack Engineer with architect-level experience building and scaling distributed systems that process large volumes of financial transactions. This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who can guide architecture decisions while remaining directly involved in writing production code.
You will help scale and secure Qolo’s payments platform, influence technical direction across the full stack, and improve how engineering teams design, build, and deliver software. The role requires practical judgment, strong ownership, and the ability to address demanding customer and business needs through reliable, efficient engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable, secure, high-performance distributed systems for payments and card processing.
• Influence architectural decisions across frontend applications, backend services, data systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code using Angular, .NET Core, and SQL Server while establishing strong engineering standards.
• Design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Architect, deploy, and operate cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Champion CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation to improve delivery speed, system reliability, and software quality.
• Use AI-enabled development tools to improve engineering productivity and software development lifecycle (SDLC) effectiveness.
• Ensure systems meet fintech requirements for security, compliance, availability, and auditability.
• Take ownership of high-impact engineering initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Help improve engineering practices and establish technical standards that support the platform’s long-term growth.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated success in a Principal Engineer position or an equivalent architect-level engineering role.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture and large-scale transaction platforms.
• Strong experience in fintech, payments, card issuing, or related financial infrastructure.
• Hands-on proficiency with modern Angular, C#/.NET Core, and SQL Server.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, messaging systems, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices in regulated environments.
• Ability to lead through technical execution, production code, and sound architectural decisions.
• Strong ownership and accountability, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.
• Pragmatic decision-making skills, balancing delivery speed with long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to align engineering strategy with business objectives.
Preferred Experience
• Experience scaling systems in both startup and enterprise environments.
• A practical approach to solving complex engineering challenges while maintaining reliability, security, and code quality.
