About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our dynamic team in North Charleston. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and modifying software systems tailored to meet the needs of our clients, particularly within the defense sector. You will work closely with business analysts, designers, and subject matter experts to understand functional requirements, produce detailed specifications, and write high-quality, secure code. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development principles, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for creating impactful solutions that make a difference. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects that support our nation's military and defense operations.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional experience as a software developer.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
• Ability to follow established development processes, including Sprint planning and code reviews.
• Experience with Continuous Delivery pipelines and DevOps/SecDevOps practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in debugging, tracing, and resolving code issues efficiently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  
  

Preferred qualifications include experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), Java, PostgreSQL, Angular, Git, and working with Java application servers. Experience with Agile development methodologies and current active Secret clearance are also advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain secure, robust, and efficient software code following best practices and coding standards.
• Refactor legacy code to improve quality and maintainability without altering core functionalities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
• Design and implement interfaces and conversion routines leveraging application programming interfaces (APIs).
• Participate actively in planning sessions, artifact creation, full-stack development, and demonstrations.
• Analyze project-related challenges and develop innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology, and methodology.
• Create automated tests and assist with other program efforts such as configuration management and test automation.
• Support formal testing in controlled environments before deploying software to production systems.
• Maintain knowledge of feature updates and technical changes within the application environment to ensure ongoing relevance and security.
