About The Role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer specializing in Laravel to join our team at our Hamburg location. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our Laravel-based platform by developing new features, optimizing existing functionalities, and ensuring seamless integration with various external systems. Your expertise will be vital in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust APIs, administrative interfaces, and system interfaces that connect with third-party solutions such as ERP systems, POS systems, banking services, AI platforms, and cloud storage solutions like SFTP, S3, and Firebase.

A core aspect of your responsibilities will involve leveraging modern AI tools like Claude Code to enhance software development processes through code reviews, testing, refactoring, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will work on integrating intelligent AI functionalities into our products, facilitating features such as translation services, menu planning, support assistance, and data-driven analytics. Ensuring high code quality through automated testing frameworks like Pest, PHPUnit, and Playwright, as well as static analysis and structured code reviews, will be a key part of your work. You will also analyze performance issues in production environments, utilizing logs, tracing, and database analysis to develop sustainable solutions that improve system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as an IT specialist or a comparable university degree.
• Extensive experience with PHP and Laravel in production environments, demonstrating the ability to handle business-critical applications.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, including experience with query optimization, indexing, transactions, and locking mechanisms.
• Familiarity with integrating AI tools into software development workflows, with a critical approach to evaluating results and taking ownership of code quality.
• Interest in AI-powered products, including large language models, prompt engineering, cost management, data privacy, and system reliability.
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
