About the Company
Tattoo Projects is a growing agency focused on interactive digital experiences and web solutions for its clients. The team brings together developers, designers, and creative professionals to build applications, improve digital processes, and deliver engaging client projects.
About the Role
Tattoo Projects is looking for an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to help build, maintain, and improve web applications across both front-end and back-end systems. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineers, designers, and agency leadership to turn creative concepts into reliable, functional digital products.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who understands the fundamentals of web development, writes clean and well-documented code, and can manage projects from initial requirements through deployment. Beyond coding, this person will contribute ideas, recommend technical improvements, help refine internal processes, and support the future direction of the agency's technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve web applications throughout the full development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Build responsive, pixel-accurate user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while following established web development best practices.
- Develop server-side functionality, integrate APIs, and manage databases to support client applications and business requirements.
- Build and maintain content management system solutions, including headless and traditional CMS applications.
- Integrate user interfaces with first-party and third-party APIs using GraphQL, REST, and other relevant technologies.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform UI testing, and improve performance, stability, and scalability.
- Work with modern front-end frameworks and development tools while maintaining and improving existing applications.
- Create reusable code and libraries that improve development efficiency and support consistent project delivery.
- Collaborate with designers and creative teams to translate visual concepts and technical requirements into functional digital experiences.
- Gather and clarify technical and design requirements, develop prototypes and mockups, and help determine practical solutions for client projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to applications, infrastructure, and development workflows.
- Support legacy application improvements and rebuilds using appropriate modern technologies.
- Provide technical training and support when needed, and prepare clear documentation and development guides.
- Help maintain high-quality visual standards and ensure completed work aligns with client requirements and brand guidelines.
- Contribute to project planning, technical decision-making, and internal process improvements while managing multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of proven full stack development experience, including front-end and back-office development.
- A strong understanding of the complete web development workflow, from design and development through testing and deployment.
- Proficiency in core front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, with a solid understanding of their fundamentals.
- Experience developing responsive user interfaces and implementing server-side functionality, API integrations, and database management.
- Hands-on experience with one or more CMS platforms, such as WordPress, Hygraph, or Contentful.
- Experience building traditional and headless applications using GraphQL and/or REST APIs.
- Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks and tools, such as Svelte, SvelteKit, Tailwind CSS, and Vite.
- Working knowledge of multiple back-end technologies or languages, such as PHP, C#, Python, or Node.js.
- Basic proficiency with Git and version control practices.
- The ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, translate requirements into finished applications, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Svelte or SvelteKit.
- Exposure to DevOps, security, or infrastructure-related work.
- Previous experience working in a digital or creative agency.
- Candidates based on the U.S. East Coast are preferred, with North Carolina and Pennsylvania locations considered a plus.
Work Environment and Benefits
This is a fully remote position, with no relocation required.
The role includes fully paid benefits and a 401(k) plan with a 3% company match.
You will work alongside an established team of experienced developers and collaborate across a diverse range of client projects. The position also offers the opportunity to influence technical decisions, contribute to creative problem-solving, and help shape the agency's development practices and future technology direction.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Tattoo Projects is looking for someone who can take ownership of development work, deliver projects reliably, and contribute more than code alone. The successful candidate will be comfortable sharing ideas, evaluating different approaches, working with creative and technical colleagues, and helping determine the best way to meet client needs.
This is an opportunity to play an active role in both project delivery and the continued development of the agency's technical capabilities.
