About The Role

The Senior Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin is a pivotal role responsible for leading the development and enhancement of sophisticated data analytics solutions supporting critical analytic missions. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including other senior engineers, to design, develop, and maintain complex software systems that meet stringent quality and security standards. The role requires providing technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with mission objectives. Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP). A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution is mandatory; however, four (4) additional years of relevant Software Engineering experience on projects following similar software processes can be substituted for a degree. Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, testing, and debugging software solutions, particularly within Linux operating environments, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java is required, along with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, agile methodologies, and security standards relevant to defense and aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced data analytics software solutions supporting mission-critical operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to define system requirements, architecture, and integration strategies.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure software solutions meet rigorous security, quality, and compliance standards through comprehensive testing and validation processes.
  • Contribute to the refinement of development processes and best practices to optimize efficiency and product quality.
  • Support system troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation of deployed solutions.
