About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Storage Platform Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining the core data systems that underpin Patreon's platform. Based in San Francisco or New York, the ideal candidate will work in a hybrid environment, with in-office presence required two days per week. The Senior Storage Platform Software Engineer will be responsible for creating scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems capable of handling millions of requests daily. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to deliver high-quality features that support our growing community of creators and fans. Your expertise will ensure our infrastructure remains resilient, performant, and capable of supporting Patreon's expanding user base.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in backend software engineering
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Redis
• Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working collaboratively across engineering and product teams to scope and deliver features
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
