Role Description The Full Stack Developer role is a part-time remote position responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing The Bar Bulletin’s web platform. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing front-end interfaces, implementing and maintaining back-end services, and ensuring smooth integration between the two. The developer will collaborate with editorial staff to support new features for publishing and displaying legal news and court updates, including performance improvements and usability enhancements. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, managing deployments, monitoring site reliability and security, and contributing to technical documentation and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Front-end development skills, such as proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar).
• Back-end development skills, including experience with server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Ruby) and RESTful API design.
• Database management skills, such as working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and query optimization.
• Version control and collaboration skills, including use of Git, code review practices, and working in agile or iterative development environments.
• Experience with cloud hosting or DevOps practices, such as deployment pipelines, monitoring, and basic security hardening for web applications.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to performance, accessibility, and responsive design across devices.
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.
• Previous experience building content-driven or news websites, and familiarity with legal or professional services domains is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
