Company Description

Auto24 is a vertical automotive platform and vehicle data provider serving the Israeli market. The platform operates as both a C2C marketplace — enabling direct transactions between vehicle owners, buyers, and sellers — and a B2C service — giving drivers direct access to vehicle data, verification tools, and digital commerce. Auto24 is focused on increasing transparency and efficiency across the automotive ecosystem, equipping users with essential data, actionable insights, and digital tools to navigate every stage of the vehicle lifecycle. The company is building technology that enables more confident transactions and a smoother experience for all participants in the automotive market.

Auto24 is already live. The platform at auto24.co.il receives approximately 100,000 visits per month, according to SimilarWeb. The C2C product is online with paid options available — meaning the company is not pre-product, pre-launch, or pre-revenue. It has real users, real traffic, and a working commercial model.

Role Description

Auto24 is looking for a Technical Co-Founder to build alongside the founder. This is a peer role — the founder is a software engineer and will be writing code, making architectural decisions, and shipping product alongside you. You are not being brought in to lead a team or take over technology. You are being brought in to build this together.

You will work as a hands-on engineer and co-owner on Auto24's platform and data infrastructure — designing systems, writing production code, integrating data verification tools, and ensuring reliability, security, and performance across services.

The platform operates as both a C2C marketplace and a B2C service, so you will be building systems that support two-sided transactions, user-generated listings, trust and verification layers, and direct consumer-facing tools.

This is a full-time remote role, remote-first. You must be based in Israel, with the ability to meet in person. Your day-to-day work will include hands-on development, code review with the founder, architectural decisions made jointly, and iterative product releases. At this stage, Auto24 is a two-person team — you and the founder. Product, business, and operations are not separate departments; they are shared responsibilities that you will handle together as the company grows.

As the company grows, there may be opportunities to help build and lead an engineering team. But the primary expectation is that you build, not that you manage. The exact scope can evolve based on the right person and mutual fit.

Current Technology

  • TypeScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Elastic
  • Redis
  • Kafka
  • TailwindCSS
  • Alpine.js
  • Astro

Experience with the exact stack is useful, but not required. Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to work effectively with an existing codebase are more important.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience
  • Strong full-stack background — frontend, backend, and architecture
  • Experience building and maintaining production software
  • Experience building marketplace, C2C, or B2C platform products — preferably in a vertical industry
  • Comfort working as a peer and co-owner, not as an employee executing assigned tasks
  • Background in the Israeli automotive industry — cars, motorbikes, trucks, or buses
  • Familiarity with leasing, financing, and traditional purchase models
  • Commercial mindset — able to think about customers, revenue, and go-to-market
  • Native Hebrew, plus English, Russian, or German
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex vehicle and market data and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication abilities to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and present technical concepts clearly
  • Comfort working in an early-stage environment with changing priorities and incomplete information
  • Comfort working in a two-person founding team where product, business, and operations are shared responsibilities
  • A high level of ownership and interest in helping build the company, not only delivering assigned development tasks
