About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application Developer to join our dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of critical applications used by our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet both current and future needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, system analysts, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software products. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of software development best practices. The Application Developer will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality, security, and performance of applications, supporting MANTECH's commitment to delivering reliable and innovative solutions to its clients.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience. Qualifications include:

• A High School Diploma or GED with at least 7 years of experience in the Information Technology field.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming and hands-on development experience.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with at least one modern front-end framework, preferably Angular.
• Knowledge of the Spring Framework, RESTful services, SQL, and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience with Git version control, including branching and merging within a team environment.
  
  

Preferred qualifications include excellent project management skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and knowledge of Elasticsearch and secure web application development best practices. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

The Application Developer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Designing, programming, and modifying software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and future projects.
• Analyzing user needs and software requirements to assess the feasibility of design within project constraints.
• Collaborating with team members, service providers, vendors, and users to develop new features and improve existing functionalities.
• Developing comprehensive unit and integration tests, participating in functional and regression testing to ensure software quality and correctness.
• Identifying and correcting errors, making appropriate changes, and re-verifying the functionality to meet desired outcomes.
• Reviewing help desk messages and working with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
• Participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Deploying code across development, testing, and production environments using existing DevOps tools and infrastructure.
