About the Client

Our client is a stealth, early-stage US-based startup building a premier turnkey operating system for fitness operators. They provide a complete SaaS platform featuring standardized functional aging assessments, progressive training programming, real-time KPI dashboards, AI workout generators, and sales toolkits.

We are looking for their first engineering hire to help them build and scale their platform from the ground up.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, entrepreneurial Founding Full-Stack Developer. As the first developer for this project, you will be the core technical engine, working directly with the client's CEO and CTO.

You won't just be fixing tickets—you will be taking app mockups and turning them into a fully functioning product. You will own the frontend (React.js), build out the backend architecture, and set up the cloud infrastructure and databases from scratch on Heroku or AWS.

What You Will Build (Based on Current UI/UX Designs)

• Operator Dashboard: A high-level KPI overview featuring data visualizations (like pie charts for score distributions), user retention stats, and billing summaries.
• User Management: A directory system with search and filtering capabilities (by age, coach, score band), displaying user profiles with status badges (active, cancelled, trial).
• Assessment Engine: A tracking system for proprietary scoring metrics, displaying recent assessments categorized into specific performance bands.
• Staff Management: Profiles for facility staff tracking their certifications, utilization rates, and training module progress using progress bar UI components.
• Complex Navigation: A robust sidebar navigation system organizing Operations, Growth tools, and Content libraries.

Key Responsibilities

• Frontend Development: Build a responsive, highly performant, and intuitive web application using React.js, bringing app screenshots and UI/UX designs to life.
• Backend & API: Architect and develop robust backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs to power operator dashboards, assessment engines, and user tracking features.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Set up, configure, and deploy the application and database infrastructure on AWS or Heroku.
• Database Management: Design the database schema (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) to handle facility pipelines, user metrics, and multi-tenant SaaS data securely.
• Collaboration: Work daily and directly with the client's CEO and CTO in a fast-paced, agile startup environment.
• Foundational Engineering: Establish best practices for code quality, version control, testing, and CI/CD as the first member of the engineering team.

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of full-stack web development experience, ideally in a SaaS or startup environment.
• Frontend Expert: Deep knowledge of React.js, state management, and modern CSS/UI frameworks (experience with chart libraries like Chart.js or Recharts is a huge plus).
• Backend Capable: Strong backend experience (Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar) with the ability to build secure, scalable APIs independently.
• Cloud & DB: Hands-on experience setting up relational databases and managing cloud infrastructure (Heroku or AWS).
• Self-Starter: You are comfortable being the "first dev in" and don't need a project manager to hold your hand. You can take a set of screenshots/requirements and figure out the best way to build them.
• Language: Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working Hours: Ability to work at least 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM (CET/CEST) every day to ensure strong overlap with the US-based team.

• Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., OpenAI API) into products.
• Previous experience working on B2B SaaS platforms, dashboard analytics, or health/fitness tech.
• Experience setting up multi-tenant architectures.
