Junior Web Developer (Frontend & Creative)
Are you a creative, self-taught developer who enjoys building beautiful websites, turning ideas into functional interfaces, and solving technical problems?
We are Hivecepta, a tech studio building and scaling early-stage web products. We are looking for a junior web developer in Sri Lanka who combines technical skills with a strong eye for design, creativity, and attention to detail.
Your primary responsibility will be frontend development, including building responsive websites, improving user interfaces, creating landing pages, and translating Figma designs into working web products.
We especially value developers who can think visually, create engaging infographics, and turn complex information into clear, attractive designs.

Challenge 1 — Frontend Development
You receive a Figma design for a landing page that must look professional on both desktop and mobile. The design includes custom graphics, animations, and several sections.
Explain your step-by-step process for converting it into a fast, responsive, production-ready website. What technologies would you choose, how would you handle responsiveness, and how would you ensure the final result closely matches the design?
Challenge 2 — Creativity & Infographics
We want to create an infographic explaining how a small business can improve its online presence. The infographic must be visually attractive, easy to understand, and suitable for sharing on social media.
How would you approach this from concept to final design? Explain your visual layout, colour choices, tools, and how you would make the information engaging without overcrowding the design.
Challenge 3 — Problem Solving
You have deployed a website, but the mobile version looks broken, some images load slowly, and the layout appears differently across browsers.
Walk us through your exact debugging process. What would you inspect first, which tools would you use, and how would you identify and fix the problems?
We are interested in how you think, design, and solve problems — not just which technologies you list on your CV.
