About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join Lockheed Martin's Enterprise Sustainment Solutions Business area. This role involves contributing to the development and sustainment of advanced training systems used for the world's most sophisticated military platforms, including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing,
testing, and debugging software solutions that support mission-critical systems. Your responsibilities will include translating high-level requirements into detailed software specifications, applying established standards throughout the development lifecycle, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace and defense projects that have a meaningful impact on national
security and technological progress.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline with experience in the software development lifecycle. Proficiency in one or more of the following areas is required:
SQL, Oracle databases,
Python programming. Experience with Gitlab or similar CI/CD tools, as well as familiarity with Windows and
Linux operating systems, is essential. Candidates should also have experience providing software Basis of Estimates (BOEs) to support engineering proposals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to operate independently, solve complex problems, and support multiple programs through all phases of the development process.
Responsibilities
- Perform as a Software Engineer within the Enterprise Sustainment Solutions Business area, contributing to the full software development lifecycle.
- Create and implement design solutions for complex engineering problems, ensuring alignment with operational and customer requirements.
- Enhance existing product designs by adding or updating functionalities based on operational scenarios.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software development activities, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software solutions that address mission-critical challenges using logical and mathematical methods.
- Apply established standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle to maintain consistency and quality.
- Translate high-level requirements into detailed software specifications and comprehensive design documents.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs and technical standards.
