About The Role

Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Web Application Developer SME to join our team in Herndon, VA. This pivotal role involves working on a suite of services designed to empower users with tools that automate a broad spectrum of enterprise-wide applications and data-centric mission management systems. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with software developers, ETL specialists, and data scientists to enhance existing applications and develop new web services, adhering to a routine production cadence that aligns with evolving user needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity for software professionals eager to expand their expertise into artificial intelligence and machine learning domains.

The role emphasizes iterative development using Agile methodologies, requiring effective communication with project team members, stakeholders, and leadership to assess requirements, demonstrate progress, and incorporate feedback. The developer will be involved in integrating AI/ML technologies into web applications, designing and testing code, creating prototypes, and delivering demonstrations for diverse audiences. Additionally, responsibilities include developing technical documentation, optimizing application performance, and ensuring scalability and security compliance. Qualifications

• Proven experience working within Agile software development teams, utilizing methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and GitHub for documentation and team collaboration.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience developing web applications and UX/UI frameworks using Angular, React, or JavaScript, with specific examples of work. Experience with Java Spring framework is a plus.
• At least 6-8 years of experience working in Linux operating systems.
• 6-8 years of experience deploying applications in Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or equivalent cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, or Google Cloud.
• 2-3 years of experience with search and analytic tools like ElasticSearch, Solr, or OpenSearch.
• 2-3 years of ETL experience with large structured and unstructured data sets.
• 4-6 years of demonstrated ability to design, develop, test, and deploy new applications based on project requirements.
• Strong ability to work independently and within project teams, managing tasks to meet deadlines.
• 6-8 years of experience with microservices architecture, containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
• 4-6 years of experience in Object-Oriented programming languages like Python (preferred), Java, JavaScript, C#, or SQL.
  
  

Additional desired qualifications include experience with text analytics, machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow), data visualization tools (Tableau, Pandas, D3.js), and NoSQL or relational databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, MySQL, or Postgres. Familiarity with Natural Language Processing tools like spaCy, NLTK, Stanford CoreNLP, or Gensim is also advantageous. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, with a minimum of six years of relevant experience; a Master's degree can substitute for an additional two years of experience.

This position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph from Day 1.
