Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Full Stack Engineer role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Full Stack Engineer will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications that power Standard Legal’s technology-first legal services platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing secure and scalable back-end services, building responsive front-end interfaces, and integrating AI-powered workflows and internal tools. The role involves collaborating closely with product, legal operations, and design teams to translate business requirements into reliable software solutions, as well as participating in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of architecture and development practices. The engineer will also help optimize performance, ensure robust security and data privacy, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Back-End Web Development and general Software Development, including building scalable APIs and working with modern server-side frameworks.
• Candidates should possess practical Front-End Development experience, including proficiency with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and modern JavaScript frameworks or libraries.
• Candidates should possess Full-Stack Development capabilities, with the ability to own features from database and services through to user interface and deployment.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), and version control systems such as Git is beneficial.
• Relevant qualifications include a strong foundation in computer science or software engineering, professional experience building production web applications, and familiarity with secure coding practices and data privacy considerations.
• Effective collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, product-focused environment are important.
• Experience in legal-tech, fintech, or other highly regulated domains is a plus but not required.
