Seniority & Work Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a software engineer (seniority floor recently lowered from a higher bar)
• Has shipped user-facing features end-to-end (bonus for AI/LLM-powered features)
• Experience at an AI-forward, VC-backed startup or top tech company (e.g. FAANG)
• Demonstrates upward career trajectory or high ownership (promotion to senior, founding title, etc.)

Education

• CS degree (or related field) from a top, well-known program — Berkeley, UIUC, Purdue, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Georgia Tech, etc. This is currently the team's main filter.

Hard Skills

• Strong engineering fundamentals, ideally TypeScript, React, and Python
• Hands-on experience or knowledge of reinforcement learning
• Nice-to-have: active side projects, especially in AI or agentic systems (recently downgraded from a hard requirement)
